The coronavirus crisis is also causing significant declines in advertising presence for the watch industry .
Following the declaration of a state of emergency in Switzerland on 16 March 2020, there have been steep declines in advertising pressure across all channels. However, some seem to be more flexible than others when it comes to placing adverts.
It remains to be seen which brands are coping with the crisis and how. Whether by adjusting their placement strategy, realigning their advertising messages or entering into new partnerships. One thing is clear. Not communicating is one option, but certainly not the best strategically, so it is important to keep an eye on the competition.
